This American Goldfinch was a pleasant surprise at the feeder today. Their bright yellow and black plumage got them the name “wild canary” but they are actually in the finch family. Coolest thing about this colorful little bird? Their song sounds like “po-ta-to-chip”. Get me some French onion dip, I’m headed out to look for these golden beauties!
